In the Wild Wild West, it was every lone ranger for himself, but over at Escape Newcastle, you’ll need to wrangle a wild bunch of bandits for a chance at escaping - dead or alive!
Opened in 2019, Dead Man’s Hand sauntered through the doors of Escape Newcastle’s The Gate venue, and through hard work and true grit, the room earned a well-deserved facelift earlier this year!
Exclusive to Newcastle, you and your gang must make your escape from the High Noon Saloon come Hell or high water, or risk yeeing your last haw.
DEAD MAN’S HAND
You are visiting the cowboy-themed amusement park Western World where the robotic "hosts" have begun to malfunction and kill off the guests! After barricading yourself inside the Saloon you’ve found a backdoor protected by a hand scanner.
The scanner will only open using the park owner's handprint but the hosts have sealed this away in the saloon's safe. You have one hour before they manage to break in- can you find the Dead Man's Hand?
How Does It Work?
Your Game Master cannot hear you inside your room, but is always watching - Big Brother style!
Players at Escape Newcastle’s The Gate receive clues if and when the Game Master deems them necessary - we’re here to help you and your team solve as much as the room as possible, but escaping is entirely dependent on you!
Clues are delivered visually via pictures or written text through a clue screen inside the room, meaning that reasonable adjustments can be made for players with visual or hearing impairments.
Do We Stand A Chance?
With a pass rate of 40%, Dead Man’s Hand stands as a challenge for most - however, with teams of a Magnificent 2 - 6 players, you can bring along your whole posse!
Alternatively, you and your fellow gunslingers can work together to wrangle your way to freedom (just as long as it doesn’t end with a stand-off)!
